How I work
As a therapist, my goal is to create a safe, respectful and confidential environment for all my clients. I work from a Humanistic, Psycho dynamic and Integrative Perspective. I recognise and respect that each individual is unique and so I tailor therapy to suit the needs of each client. I believe one of the most important components of therapy is the therapeutic relationship and that it is the skilled and principled use of this relationship that facilitates the self-knowledge, emotional acceptance, growth and optimal development of the client.
This relationship will vary according to need but may be concerned with developmental issues, addressing and resolving specific problems, making decisions, coping with crisis, developing personal insights and knowledge, working through feelings of inner conflict or improving relationships with others. The overall aim of therapy is to provide an opportunity for the client to work towards living more satisfyingly and resourcefully and this principle guides the work at all times.
Getting Started is Easy
“We are all of us exceedingly complex creatures and do ourselves a service regarding ourselves as complex. Otherwise, we live in a dream world of non-existent, simplistic black-and-white notions which simply do not apply to life” – Theodore Rubin
